Health & Wellness Fair

Come to MPE on Saturday afternoon for our first ever Health & Wellness Fair! We will have booths in the cafeteria from 2 to 5pm with health information, fun games and crafts, and information from local partners/health professionals. Scheduled activities in the gym and media center include the following:

2:05PM - Yoga with Priya

2:45PM - Be Internet Awesome (sponsored by the National PTA)

3:30PM - Emotional Wellness (Dr. Kitty O'Hare from Duke Primary Care)

4:15PM - Balance Martial Arts demo team

4:30PM - Zumba with Jessica 

Don't forget to bring:

1 - Yoga mat if needed

2 - Water bottle if needed

3 - Donation for Nourishing Noggins (eg. canned protein or vegetable, breakfast items like instant oatmeal, etc.)

4 - Your completed Resolution Sheet - there will be a prize table beside the PTA table to submit your sheet.

Last week of Health & Wellness Month

This it - the end of our Health & Wellness month is near! This short week involves our 4th bingo sheet themed Safety. 

Classroom BINGO contest ends Saturday

Submit any and all BINGO sheets by Saturday's fair (this includes Parent and Teacher sheets). The sheets will be tallied and the winning classroom will be announced Monday morning. Remember you will receive points for the number of boxes completed not only the number of BINGOs completed. The prize is a 45-minute session at Balance Martial Arts on Sunday, March 4th at 4pm. The winning classroom - teacher included - will have a karate lesson mixed in with fun and games.

Maniac Marathon is Back!

Maniac Marathon is now open for registration, just sign up here

This program is a great way to get students out and exercising.  Sign up for FREE and commit to running, walking, or skipping for 26.2 miles.  Don't worry!  You have from now until April 12th to complete the first 25 miles.  Students and families can go at their own pace and schedule, recording the miles on our log.  Participants will also receive a necklace (included with registration) on which they can place a bead for each mile completed.  OPTIONAL is a t-shirt to commemorate the event that can be worn for the final mile on April 12th at 10:15 behind Mills Park.  This is a school-wide event, and caregivers are welcome to come and participate or cheer on their student as they finish this fantastic feat.
