cultural arts showcase

Every year, MPE students experience 3 to 5 cultural arts shows. Because of COVID restrictions, this program was not in effect during the 2020-2021 school year. More details to come.

 


 

maniacs marathon

The Mills Park Maniacs run 26.2 miles every spring, encouraging each other to get moving and get healthy! Families run 25 miles over a few weeks on their own. The final 1.2 miles are run on the Mills Park Campus.

 

 


nourishing noggins

Throughout the school year, the Nourishing Noggins program provides MPE students with bags of nutritious food to take home each weekend, as well as boxes of food and hygiene items to take home over the winter and summer breaks. 

 

 


odyssey of the mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program for kids in grades 2 - 5 that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Kids apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. Each problem this year has been designed to be completed virtually.

 


Reflections

reflections

Pre-K to Grade 5 MPE students can participate in Reflections, a National PTA competition, by creating original works of art following the annual theme. The different arts categories include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. 

 

 

 

 

 


Walk to school day

Walk-to-school day

In early October, one of the PTA health and wellness initiatives includes a day where all students can walk to school together starting from a couple of different locations in the neighborhood.

Every year, parent volunteers form a yearbook committee and create a school yearbook to document the academic year. The yearbook includes individual school portraits (usually from Strawbridge) organized by homeroom, staff portraits, candid photos form school events, photos of school clubs and much more.
