What to do with too much Halloween candy

10/25/2021 9:35 pm

Mills Park Elementary School is partnering with Triangle Family Dentistry (Cary Park Office) to collect your leftover Halloween candy for donation to Operation Gratitude.
Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit formed with the goal of thanking those who serve our country, will distribute these sweet treats to deployed troops, local military units, veterans, and first responders. In addition to your candy donation, we are asking that each student make a card or picture to show gratitude to these heroes among us.
Candy and card donations will run Monday, November 1st through Friday, November 5th.  Students can drop off cards and candy in the designated boxes in the school lobby. There will also be a cart outside the school entrance for parents and VA.

A message from our Ways & Means chair about our Bookaneer Book Fair

10/25/2021 2:39 pm

What a great weekend!  We could not have asked for better weather for our final outdoor book fair event and donuts with grownups.  I hope you all had as much fun as I did.  A huge thank you to everyone who came out to shop, to volunteer, or just to say hi to Millie!  We were so happy to see you all.  Your support was phenomenal.

If you missed the fair, you can still shop online here until October 31st.  Books make the best gifts, and I know I got a head start on my holiday shopping this week.  Thank you again.  This year was unlike any other but still a huge success.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, I'd love your feedback... I'm already looking forward to next year's fair!

Pirate Booty Spirit Night was a success!

10/20/2021 12:34 pm

A great big thank you to all those who turned out for our Pirate Booty Spirit Night last night, especially the volunteers.  The event was a huge success, and we hope you all had a good time.  It was so wonderful to see friends reuniting and families gathering.  We were so pleased to hold an event that we hope everyone felt safe attending.  We want virtual students to know that they are still an important part of this school and to feel included.  We hope to see everyone again on Saturday, even if it's just for the donuts and drinks.  We have a restock order of books on the way.  If we are out of any book, go ahead and order it at the register.  We will deliver those books to the classrooms when they come in.  The advantage of this is NO tax or shipping charges!  Thank you again for your amazing support of Mills Park and the PTA.

Let's hear it for Mr. Regan!

10/17/2021 10:59 pm

Did you know that October is National Principals Month? We are late in celebrating our amazing MPE principal so we are extending National Principals Month at MPE until November 13th (Mr. Regan's birthday).

Show your appreciation for all of Mr. Regan's hard work in making MPE an incredible school (#7 elementary school in North Carolina!). Have your child send him a letter/card or give him an extra high five in the morning.
