Every year, our Room Parents work hard to create raffle baskets for the Spring Carnival.
What are raffle baskets?
Our raffle baskets are prize baskets filled with items that follow a theme. For example, our Movie Night basket may contain popcorn, movie snacks, a movie projector, gift certificates to rent movies (Amazon) or for streaming services like Netflix. Families can purchase raffle tickets (online before Carnival or during Carnival) to be placed in the raffle jar dedicated to each specific basket. After Carnival, our principal will draw a single winning ticket for each basket.
Why do we make raffle baskets each year?
In order to bring our families, students and staff all our wonderful programs and events, we need to raise money throughout the year. Boosterthon is our major fall fundraiser; the Spring Carnival combined with the Silent Auction and Raffle Baskets is our major spring fundraiser. How are the raffle baskets made?
This year we have split our 38 classrooms into 11 teams. Your room parents will email you to ask for either basket theme-related items or monetary donations for them to shop with. Once completed, the baskets will be on display in the media center for one week before the Carnival.
When can you buy raffle tickets?
In April, we will open a form in your account which will allow you to pre-purchase carnival admission and raffle tickets. Admission and tickets will be discounted if purchased online before the carnival. Tickets purchased online will be placed in the jars for the raffle by the PTA board (we will let you know your ticket numbers). Tickets purchased in person at the carnival will be given to you to place in the jars during the carnival.
What are the contents of this year's raffle baskets?
In the first week of April, we will post a list of basket contents here. These are the themes and teams for the 2022 Spring Carnival.
