We are so excited to continue the tradition of the Mills Park Maniacs Program - a virtual marathon for the family (minus the last mile)! This is a fun way for your family to get moving and to have fun together!

Your child/family will walk, run, skip, or hop 25.1 miles (no bikes) by Wednesday, March 26th. Complete the last 1.1 mile at school on Thursday, March 27th at 10:00 a.m. - families are invited to run with their student. All other MPE students will be cheering on the runners.

How it works:

1 - Complete this form: add a registration to your cart for each participating student. Registration is free. As usual, you will have the option of purchasing a Maniacs shirt for your runner(s) and matching adult shirts*. This year you have the option of a basic poly-cotton blend shirt or a Sport-Tek Racer-mesh shirt. All shirts purchased by Feb. 7th will be delivered to your student by early March. (*Staff PTA members - use your spirit wear discount code for 20% off).

2 - Start logging your miles at your pace. Here is a log you can use. You can expect a pace of about 3-5 miles per week depending on when you register. We will also host a few "running dates" where you and your family can meet up with other Maniacs and complete a mile or two (dates TBD).

For every completed mile, your student will put a bead on their necklace. Students will receive their necklace and beads on Mon. Feb. 3rd or Mon. Feb. 10th depending on date of registration. There will be a special star bead for the 5k milestone, a colorful glass bead for the 13-mile mark and a paw charm for the 26.1 mile mark. 

3 - Complete 25 miles by Wednesday, March 26th.

4 - Have your student ready to run on Thursday, March 27th. Come and run with them. Wear your shirts!

Registration will close on Friday, Feb. 7th at midnight.

Carnival, Room Parents, and More

Room Parents:  get all the information you need about classroom raffle baskets.  Find out what team you will be on and pick your basket theme.  Not sure what I'm talking about?  All your questions will be answered.

Spring Carnival:  only our biggest and most fun event of the year, but we need to start planning now!  There are so many ways to participate, so check out the signup here to see what grabs your interest.

General Meeting/ Reflections

Please join us for some quick PTA updates:  what we have done so far this year and what is still to come.  We have two very exciting events with Health and Wellness Fair in March and Spring Carnival in April.  Considering getting more involved?  See how you can help both this year and next year!

After the meeting we will be recognizing the participants of our annual Reflections competition.  Come see their amazing submissions and celebrate with them. 

This will be in the Media Center.  Come early and load your plate, as food will be provided.
