A huge thank you to Eric Hall!

This week, we would like to thank one of MPE PTA's super volunteers, Eric Hall. Eric has played a huge part at MPE PTA over the last 10 years and now his younger child, Sarah, is finishing up 5th grade. His many roles have included being vice-president of the board for 2 years, Cultural Arts Coordinator for 8 years and Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator for 2 years. He has helped at countless other MPE events including acquiring silent auction items and lining food trucks for this year's carnival and even dressed up as our mascot, Millie, once for a classroom visit. We asked Eric what drove him to volunteer for all these roles at MPE and why he thinks MPE is an amazing school.
Why did/do you volunteer at MPE? I volunteer for several reasons, but it starts with giving back to the school and community that has been a part of our family for the past 10 years. WE have been fortunate to have great teachers, administrators and staff at MPE and I think that giving back a little of my time is just one way of saying thank you. In addition. I get to know more about the school, which helps us feel connected, and I help model a culture of giving back for our kids.
Why do you love MPE - what makes our school so special? That’s easy, it’s the people. Our family has been lucky that both kids have had excellent teachers throughout the years. When our oldest started at MPE it was 2012, “The Year of Choice”. We looked at several different schools and none of them had the same feel as MPE. Even though the staff has changed quite a bit, it has remained a supportive environment where they really know and care about the kids. It will be a real adjustment for us next year when we no longer have kids at MPE.
Well, thank you Eric for all your years of hard work for our Mills Park community! We will miss you next year!
