Maniacs Marathon Final Mile, Board Position Interest Meeting 4/12

The final week of the MPE Maniacs Marathon is here.

For all who registered by the Feb 24th deadline, this is a fun way for your family to get moving and having some fun! Your child will walk, run, skip, or hop 25.1 miles (no bikes).

For every completed mile, children will put a bead on their necklace. There will be a special bead for the 13 mile mark and the 26.1 mile mark. This is a virtual race except for the last mile. The virtual race will end on Thursday, April 11th.

We will have the children finish the final 1.1 mile at school on Friday, April 12th at 10:15am. Parents are welcome to join. Remember to wear your Maniacs T-shirts if you purchased them..

PTA BOARD AND POSITION INTEREST MEETING BEFORE FINAL MILE at 9:15AM

Our PTA will have some big roles to fill for the next year's board. Several of our clubs and events cannot be held without PTA leadership, including: Boosterthon, Odyssey of the Mind, Reflections, Cultural Arts, field day and our spring carnival, to name a few.

Please consider stepping up if you're at all interested! We have scheduled an in person meeting before the Maniacs Marathon on April 12th (at 9.15am after drop-off) for parents interested in knowing more about the roles

Take advantage of our Early Bird Sale: Carnival Admission Wristbands online for $12 (plus tax) and bonus Tickets for every pack purchased. Order via the "My Forms/Paperwork" link in your PTA account or by scanning the barcode below starting now, until April 12th. You can also use this form for cash/check orders.

ADMISSION WRISTBAND ($12.00 plus tax each)

Needed for every CHILD ages 3-16 for admission to carnival; adults do not need a wristband
Included with wristband: passport scavenger hunt, inflatables, game show, all activities at sponsor booths including photo booth
Admission will increase to $15 (taxes incl.) at the carnival.

RAFFLE TICKETS (Various packs)

Used for additional activities such as carnival games, concessions/cotton candy, fairy hair, glitter tattoos, dunk tank, train ride. Each activity is 1-2 tickets/person.
Also used for entry in raffle basket draw.
Tickets will be $1 each at the carnival.
Pack of 12 tickets: $10; Pack of 25 tickets: $20; Pack of 75 tickets: $50

V.I.P. PARKING ($15.00 each)

Reserve a spot in the front parking lot to avoid the crowded lot/street during the event
Display pass in your dashboard to access VIP Parking area

We do need your help to bring this event to our school community. Sign up for a volunteer shift at the carnival and receive 2 extra raffle tickets.

SILENT AUCTION

Can't make it to carnival but you still want to participate in the raffle baskets and the silent auction? You absolutely can. Our silent auction website is now open and you can peruse the amazing packages prepared for you from a night at the Umstead, UNC fitness, to museum passes; you will also be able to purchase tickets for the raffle baskets on the website. Bidding on our silent auction website will open on April 5th and finish at 6PM on April 20th. Please mote that we will continue to add items through the week.

Students in two assemblies enjoyed the Cultural Art Show, Think Bigg.

Think Bigg and its award-winning performing artist Trent Arterberry, blended mime, storytelling and puppetry into a hilarious show of kid-friendly stories and characters. The show featured lots of audience participation, students learned about non-verbal communication and specific mime techniques both onstage and in their seats.
