New sign-up spots for Nourishing Noggins

Hi MPE families! Click on the link below to see new sign-up spots for our Nourishing Noggins program.

The Nourishing Noggins program provides food to MPE families in need throughout the year. More info on the program here: https://www.nourishingnoggins.org. We are looking for volunteers to take on the weekly food bag preparation through the end of the school year. You can sign up for one week or multiple weeks. We are also looking for various groups (Girls/Boy Scouts, Y! Guides, sports teams, etc.) or individuals to donate and pack food for each week. The Nourishing Noggins program can cover the cost of some or all of the food items depending on your participation level. If you simply want to shop and pack the bags then Nourishing Noggins will reimburse you for 100% of the food cost. We estimate $150 per week. You may also wish to purchase the items and not use Nourishing Noggins funds, that of course is great as well.

How can we start this new year happier? Things have certainly not been easy over the last year, and we are still in difficult and uncertain times. The best way to try to handle our difficult emotions and experiences is by focusing on what we can control. This month, we're encouraging everyone to focus on small steps to try to boost happiness - for ourselves and others around us - to spread kindness and hopefully inspire others to do the same. Warms the Heart - thank you to the many families, staff and the Nourishing Noggins team who contributed to the Warms the Heart Program. We were able to provide many families with multiple gift cards to help support the family's needs over winter break. Mills Park Elementary is made up of a fabulous community!

We are trying something new this week for Spirit Night! On Thursday, December 16th, any groceries you buy between 3-8pm will earn the Mills Park Elementary PTA 10% of your total purchases.

If you are checking out, just tell them you are supporting Mills Park Elementary - you won't be able to use the self-checkout. If you are using Lowes Foods To Go, you have to tell them you are supporting MPE when they call to confirm your order is ready. Lowes Foods To Go is their grocery pick-up service. It's a great option if you don't want to come in the store or don't want to spend the time shopping on a week night (or ever.) Use code 8175 for a FREE month of this service! Need more incentives?

The PTA will be at the community table from 3-5 with:

*Craft and activity sheet for the kids

*Drawing for a spice set

*Prize for showing us a linked Box Tops for Education or Lowes card

*Spirit Wear pickup... did you check out our Stocking Stuffer bundle?

*Virtual student Boosterthon t-shirt pickup, if you haven't already
