Chapter 3: How to use your Fun Tickets

These kids seem to have endless energy, don't they? If they danced and bounced, ate some food, learned how to draw a cartoon, and watched a magic show and are still asking what's next.... then let me tell you. Fun Tickets are the "ticket" to extra fun and will be needed for the following extra experiences.

The Melody Maker is returning to paint faces. For a different type of body art, glitter tattoos are a new option. In between shows, our magician will be making balloon animals. There will be plenty of carnival games and prizes. Try your hand at the newest game: inflatable axe throwing. Tickets will get you a treat from the snack table and three chances at the dunk booth. Who do you most want to dunk? The schedule will be in your carnival packet along with a map so you are sure not to miss anything. And speaking of not wanting to miss anything, check back in next week as we talk more about Carnival fun.

In the mean time... have you been wanting to help out but can't find the time? Here's another way you can contribute. Save your cardboard boxes, craft packing paper, open acrylic/craft paint bottles, random markers or paint pens and send them our way. Our parent volunteers are busy making decorations, signs and games for the carnival. We need all the materials you can scrounge up. See our sign-up here - most items do not require a purchase.

HEY Mills Park Maniacs Marathon Families!

It is hard to believe we are only two weeks away from our final Maniac Marathon! We hope you have enjoyed getting outside, getting those feet moving, and having fun as you complete your miles!

We will have our final mile on Friday, April 8^th at 9:30. The children will be called down by grade level. Parents are more than welcome to come walk/run with your child or cheer your child on. After the race, there will be popsicles and water. Then the children will return to class.

Please be sure to have your child wear their Maniac shirt on race day!

Stemarga is partnering with MPE PTA to bring you a STEM night this Friday, April 1st from 5:15 - 7:00pm. This is a drop-in event primarily for 3-5th graders, but younger students and siblings are welcome. Come any time and check out their exciting 3D printers, virtual reality displays, robotics, and 3D computer programs. Snacks will be provided as you tour the facility. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up here

*Please ensure that you are signing up for the number of children that will be attending, not the adults. We are limited to 50 students, and I want to make sure we have an accurate head count. If we fill all of the available slots, we can host another event in May. If you can't make it, you can also check out their free classes during spring break. Don't forget to check out their summer camp lineup as well - they have donated one week of summer camp to our silent auction.

Last week we covered food, but there is so much more to Carnival! Let's talk a little more about what you get for admission (charge for kids only; adults are free).

Music. It just wouldn't be a party without music, and that's why DJ BENNII will be playing all the hits. Everyone can work up an appetite by dancing! And once you have a few songs stuck in your head (Baby Shark anyone?), go on our scavenger hunt for the chance to win a prize then check out inflatables from Inflate-A-Party. Swoosh down the giant slide or race against a friend in the inflatable obstacle course. There will also be a pirate ship inflatable for the younger ones as well as a toddler/preschool zone with chalk and bubbles. Too much excitement? Grab a seat and catch one of two magic shows put on by Jim Thomas Magic or learn how to draw cartoons with published cartoonist Dave McDonald. Finally, many of our sponsors and silent auction donors will be on site with a fun activity for our families.

We want to make sure there is something for everyone, and this is all included with the price of admission. Pre-order your child's admission wristband and receive our early bird special available the first week of April - more details to come.
