Second General Membership Meeting on Feb. 10th: Updates and Budget Amendments

Our second General PTA Membership Meeting is set for Feb. 10th at 7pm. The meeting link will be posted here the week before meeting; you will need to be logged into your PTA account to access the page. 

We welcome anyone to the meeting but only active PTA members can vote on this year's budget amendments. For more information on what the PTA does at MPE and how to join, click on More.

The agenda for the meeting will include updates to projects for this year (spring carnival, Maniacs Marathon, Teacher Appreciation, yearbook etc.); information about new projects (advocacy committee, book swap, spirit wear buy-back program); and a vote on budget amendments. 

Get involved. Bring your ideas to us. Find out if you would like to volunteer for specific roles next year. Get to know other families in the MPE community. Mills Park Elementary is an amazing school because of its devoted staff and committed volunteers.  

Introducing Millie's Mystery Box...

MPE PTA presents our new fundraiser - Millie's Mystery Box. Based on the current trend of subscription boxes, Millie's Mystery Box will bring you surprise contents following the theme of the month without locking you into a subscription. 

Each box will contain: small toys for all ages, items from our spirit wear collection, crafts, recipe cards and much more! We will also partner with a local business to provide a fresh baked treat in the box.

This month, our theme is Valentine's Day. Each box is $14; buy 2 for $24. For a few more details on what is in the box (without revealing the exact contents), click on the Millie's Mystery Box form under My Forms/Paperwork once you log into your PTA account. This month, we are also partnering with Cookies by Brittany and Sarah for our $4 add-on which will include 2 homemade sugar cookies and icing/sprinkles.

Since it is our first month, we will have a very limited amount to sell so preorder your box now. The form will be open until January 31st or while quantities last. The box will be delivered to your child's classroom on Valentine's Day.

We are putting together a Spring Carnival Planning Committee

It’s Carnival planning time!  With a(nother) year like no other we need some fresh ideas!  Please join me for a Google Meet at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19th for a brainstorming session.  No commitment needed, I just want to hear your thoughts.  Let’s be honest, isn’t this the fun part?  If you can’t make it but want to get involved, please feel free to email me at any time waysandmeans@millsparkpta.com.  I hope to “see” you soon.

Reflections: MPE winners are now on website; Wake County winners have been announced

The Wake County Reflections results are in:

Aarav Srivastava placed third in the Intermediate. Literature category and received an Honorable Mention for his Film entry. 

Janey Zuo received an Honorable Mention in the Primary, Visual Arts category.

Anna Kranz received an Honorable Mention in the Intermediate,  Visual Arts category.
