Help out MPE families through the Warms the Heart Program

The “Warms the Heart” program is getting underway once again. We know that some families are finding themselves in need this holiday season and others are wanting to find ways to assist others. This is a program for both!

To PROVIDE Assistance:

a. If you have questions about donating to the Warms the Heart Program this year, please email Teri Armstrong at tarmstrong@wcpss.net

b. What will you purchase? Gift cards in the amount of $25. If you would like to donate more than $25, please purchase multiple gift cards in the amount of $25.

c. Types of Gift Cards: Grocery stores, Target, Walmart, Kohls, Old Navy, etc.

i. Consider locations with groceries, clothing for all kid sizes and toys

d. Gift Card Drop-Off

i. When: Monday, November 27, 2023 - Thursday, December 14, 2023.

ii. Where: Mills Park Elementary Front Desk.

You can ring the bell to let Joan Burnett, our receptionist, know you have a gift card to drop off or Mail gifts cards to: 509 Mills Park Dr. Cary, NC 27519 (Attn. Warms the Heart)

2023-2024 Reflections : Winners and Celebration Postponed

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to reschedule our Reflections Recognition event to a new date. We will now celebrate all our MPE participants and winners on Thursday, January 18th from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Media Center at MPE.

If you have already dropped off your child's project then we will hold onto them in the PTA office. If you haven't done it yet, then we will let you know a new date in January when you can drop off the project to be displayed at the celebration. 

We are sorry for the change in plans and look forward to seeing all the participants and their families in January. We appreciate your understanding and support!

Anyone setting foot in Mills Park Elementary has surely noticed halls adorned with the amazing student art work.  Ms. Belois has elevated the art program since joining Mills Park two years ago.  She has encouraged the students in a variety of art forms and complexity that I wouldn't have thought possible for an elementary school.  In addition, she has introduced the Arts Night with Mr. Pestana, bringing an evening of music and art for students to showcase their talents.  Congratulations to Ms. Belois and many thanks for joining the Mills Park family.
